Telehospice $175
A telehospice appointment is a conversation to review quality-of-life (QOL) indicators, monitoring of QOL and to review any questions/concerns the family may have regarding end-of-life decisions or discuss questions that do not require a physical exam. Medical records should be provided ahead of time so they may be reviewed and allow us to more completely discuss your pet’s care during the telehospice call. A diagnosis cannot be made and medications cannot be prescribed via the telehospice visit.
In-home Quality-of-Life Assessment $395
This assessment is a comprehensive evaluation of your pet in their own environment, how they interact with their environment and with the family. Medical records should be provided ahead of time so they may be reviewed and allow us to more completely evaluate your pet. We will discuss disease processes, disease progression, signs/symptoms to monitor and help you identify signs of pain, discomfort or anxiety. We will also assess the home and make recommendations for environmental modifications to ease care during this stage of life. Additional discussions will include your concerns, goals for your pet and expectations as well as quality-of-life indicators and the euthanasia process, if indicated. We may make recommendations to consider discussing with your primary veterinarian; however, we do not diagnose, prescribe medications or provide ongoing care.
In-home Euthanasia $395
As difficult as it is to discuss, the word "euthanasia" actually means "good death." Dr. Tuck considers it an honor to provide dignity at end-of-life and the euthanasia process is focused on providing a peaceful transition for the patient and the family. She will perform a quality-of-life assessment and review any questions or concerns you may have prior to filling out necessary paperwork. Sedation medications are administered to ensure your pet is comfortable and pain free. Once asleep, the final injection is administered in the most appropriate method possible for the individual patient and medications are tailored to the individual needs of the patient. Transportation options for cremation services are available and we will notify your primary veterinarian of your pet's passing.
*If your pet is over 35 pounds, help will be needed to carry your pet to the vehicle if cremation services are elected.
Payment Policies
We accept cash, checks (from established clients), and credit cards (VISA, MasterCard, Discover.)
Unfortunately, we are unable to accept American Express or Care Credit.
Additional Fees may apply to the following:
- Extended travel, holidays, and after-hours appointments
- Emergency/same-day appointments, if available
- Pets weighing over 90 pounds
- Aggressive/behavioral euthanasia situations
Cancellation Policy
Should you need to change or cancel your appointment, we kindly ask that you give us at least a 4-hour advance notice. For all in-home visits, there is a $100 fee for cancellations made within 4 hours of the appointment time. Please understand that this policy is necessary as last minute changes and cancellations prohibit us from assisting other families in need. If the cancellation is due to the natural death of the pet, this fee will not be applied. We rarely need to enforce this policy and ask that as much notice as possible be provided should you need to cancel.
